LEVEL 3 - RULES OF GOLF

TBD

WINTER RULES SESSIONS

- hosted by the Golf Manitoba Rules Committee -

Golf Manitoba is pleased to announce that it will once again be hosting education clinics during the winter for anyone and everyone who wants to know more about the rules of golf. If you are a casual or competitive golfer, work in golf or want to volunteer with Golf Manitoba, you will find these sessions to be fun and informative. All clinics are from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

  • January 17 - Breezy Bend Country Club
  • February 7 - Niakwa Country Club
  • March 14 - St. Charles Country Club
  • April 4 - Southwood Golf & Country Club

2018 is a year of change in golf with the impending release of the “new” Rules of Golf which will take effect in 2019. The format of the education sessions will be to review the current rules, indicate how they will change in 2019 and work through some examples (the “hole questions”) to give you practical experience in determining how a rule applies. Of course, you will be able to ask our instructors any rules question you like.

These are no pressure sessions - whether you know everything or nothing about the rules of golf, you will take something positive out of these sessions. Even better, you can come to some or all of the four clinics  - they are held independent of one another so you won’t miss anything if you cannot attend one session and you won’t have to endure repeat information if you attend all four.

Did we mention the sessions are free? This is just one of the many benefits you receive from Golf Manitoba.

We hope to see you at one or more of the clinics.

Please email the Golf Manitoba office at golfmb@golfmanitoba.mb.ca to rsvp your attendance.  The sessions are free for all that attend.

HANDICAP SESSION

Since 2003, Golf Manitoba and Golf Canada have been providing member clubs with educational sessions relating to the handicap system.  To date, approximately four hundred participants have attended these seminars.

Golf Manitoba will be offering another Handicap Education Seminar in spring of 2018

The seminar is being offered as part of the copyright agreement between Golf Canada and the United States Golf Association (USGA) to try and maintain a consistent manner in which the handicap system is utilized.  Each member club is required to have at least one person participate in the seminar.  Golf Manitoba would encourage clubs to consider both volunteers and staff to attend.  These people will then become resources at the club level for all handicap inquiries.  If you have already had someone attend, we would also encourage you to send others.

MEMBER CLUB RULES SESSIONS

As part of your Golf Manitoba membership, we would be happy to set up a rules session at any Golf Manitoba member club. For further details, please call Director of Competitions, Lisa Andersen at 204-291-8030.
